REGIONAL
CariFLAGS (Caribbean Forum for Liberation and Acceptance of Genders and Sexualities)
Founded in 1998/04/30
CariFLAGS is currently operated by leading NGOs working on SOGI issues in Belize, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago. Our secretariat is in Port of Spain and we have offices in Castries, Kingston and Santo Domingo. We are a regional movement-building coalition advancing an indigenous LGBTI agenda for the Caribbean by engaging with governments, civil society, donors and international partners. Our goals are: to expand protective environments for enjoyment of safety and links to services, community, health, spirituality and empowerment; to build local infrastructure and leadership; to deepen LGBTI political, electoral and sociocultural participation; and to influence policy and legislation and utilize judicial and human rights frameworks to ensure justice, social inclusion and citizenship.
